WHAT ARE FANCY CUT DIAMONDS?

Fancy cut diamonds are diamonds which have shapes different from regular round diamonds. With fancy cut diamonds, the overall appearance of the diamonds is more important than the finer details as with round diamonds. The different shapes of fancy cut diamonds are cushion cut, emerald cut, pear cut, princess cut, heart cut, marquise cut, oval cut, and radiant cut.

Cushion Cut: Cushion cut diamonds have soft round edges which separates them from other square and rectangular shape diamonds.

Emerald Cut: Emerald cut diamonds have a rectangular shape. These diamonds are cut from an elongated gemstone and reflect light in a different way as compared to round diamonds.

Pear Cut: Pear cut diamonds have a round edge forming a tear drop shape. Pear cut diamonds are always in style and offer a different kind of flare. Pear cut diamonds look very elegant in bracelets, rings, etc.

Princess Cut: Princess cut diamonds are the most popular fancy shape diamonds. These diamonds are known for their style and sparkle. Princess cut diamonds have four pointed corners and contain over 70 facets.

Heart Cut: Heart cut diamonds have two symmetrical halves creating a very romantic look.

Marquise Cut: Marquise cut diamonds are oval shaped with pointed on both ends.

Oval Cut: As the name suggests, oval cut diamonds have an oval shaped outline. Since oval shaped diamonds are similar to round shape diamonds, it is appropriate for customers looking for something slightly different from a round diamond.

Radiant Cut: Radiant cut diamonds are often considered hybrid fancy shape diamonds because they combine the style of the emerald shape diamond and brilliance of a round shape diamond.
